MANUFACTURING: Inventory Tracking System
A major manufacturer needed a way to manage its $3 million inventory stored in two warehouses. Information Engineering, using an accounting system that can be customized, developed an inventory tracking system that allows suppliers to place orders and schedule deliveries. To expedite shipping, the system also interfaces with the UPS system.
 
 
INDUSTRIAL SALES: Order Entry and Data Tracking System
A manufacturer of highly specialized industrial equipment needed to upgrade the procedures its sales staff used to process orders. Information Engineering devised a Wizard-based program to configure orders according to data supplied by the sales staff. The program has been such a success that it is now used as a teaching tool to help familiarize new sales personnel with the company’s products.
 
 
SALES SUPPORT: Email Report Requestor
A company was having difficulty providing marketing support to its field sales staff. The only computer contact between the company and the sales force was by email. Information Engineering designed a system, Email Report Requestor (ERR), that gave the sales team access to the company’s main computer system via email. By sending a request to the ERR, a sales person is able to retrieve information including customer sales histories and profiles.
 
 
SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT: Employee Time Tracking System
A software developer was successfully marketing an accounting program that allowed users to record and track their billable hours by project and /or clients. However, when some users found a need for a customized, web-based version of the program, the software developer found they lacked the resources to complete the job. Information Engineering produced a program that allowed users to record their hours on a web-based module that could interface with the existing accounting software.
 
SALES AND MARKETING: Sales Data Management
A multi-tiered marketing group wanted to maximize sales by centralizing information for their sales members. Information Engineering created a web-based program that allows sales members a fast and easy way to place orders, track commissions, and monitor the progress of junior sales members. The program was also able to handle credit card verifications.
